The conversion of an existing split level house built in the mid 1970’s updates the plan to emphasize the requirements of the current owner with an entirely remodeled living area and kitchen, a new, dramatic and welcoming entrance, a new wing to accommodate two bedrooms with attached bathrooms, and an expanded garage.

A loft like space that runs through the center of the house creates a functional, organizing element that unites the existing and the new with windows and skylights placed to dramatize natural light and views of Lake Washington. A newly installed energy efficient in-floor hydronic radiant heat system will provide clean, comfortable warmth.
